Actual case history…………..

A distressed father call for our help when his 10 year old son had a road traffic accident in Bulgaria while on holiday with his grandmother. His son had sustained a fracture to his thigh bone and head injury. They did not have insurance.

Network Medical took control of the situation liaising with the treating doctor and sending an air ambulance with our medical team.

On arrival in Bulgaria the medical team was shocked to find that the boy had not had any treatment for his injury except that the leg was placed in traction. The medical team stabilized the boy’s condition and provided appropriate medication.

The Air Ambulance was meet by an NHS ambulance and taken to hospital. Network Medical had arranged the admission and kept the patient’s family informed at each stage of the repatriation.

Our staff continued to liaise with the UK hospital and was pleased to learn that the patient made a full recovery.
